The New York City Department of Sanitation hosts annual safe disposal events throughout the city, where New York City residents can leave all types of hazardous materials. If any of the waste listed above (among others) is placed in the garbage bin and landfill, the Austin landfill, or the recycling site rejects the material, you will be responsible for all costs related to the rejection of the entire load. The City of Austin accepts hazardous waste (which private garbage container rental companies in Austin cannot accept) at the following facilities. Disposal and recycling sites charge more for each hazardous waste item found in your trash bin.
